Book Tour: Broken Tales and Mermaid Wings (The Strange and Lovely Anthology) by Stephanie Fowers

Today I get to feature Book #9 in this fantastic anthology that I have been having a blast sharing with you all! First, a little about the amazing lady behind this contribution to this fantastic anthology!

Author Bio:

Stephanie Fowers loves bringing stories to life, and depending on her latest madcap ideas will do it through written word, song, and/ or film. She absolutely adores Bollywood and bonnet movies; i.e., BBC (which she supposes includes non-bonnet movies Sherlock and Dr. Who). Presently, she lives in Salt Lake where she's living the life of the starving artist. This summer, she will do the reading of her musical, "The Raven" with the talented composer, Hilary Hornberger. She also expects to film some shorts with Triad Film Productions. Stephanie plans to bring more of her novels out to greet the light of day. Be sure to watch for her upcoming books, including YA fantasy, science fiction, mysteries, a compilation of short twisted fairy tales, and more--many more--romantic comedies. May the adventures begin.

Now for a bit about Stephanie's part in the Strange and Lovely Anthology, Broken Tales and Mermaid Wings. Here is her book blurb:

When a fish and bird fall in love, where will they live? A mermaid and an angel are about to find out in this romantic tale of sweet and forbidden love.
.

Inspiring, right!!?! It makes me think of that line in Ever After: A Cinderella Story, when Da Vinci rescues Danielle from the food cellar. She says something along the lines of "A bird may love a fish, signor, but where would they live?" and then Da Vinci makes that tummy curling-ly perfect come-back, "Then I shall make you wings!" EEEEEEK!!! One of my all time favorites! I love her entrance into the ball with those STUNNING butterfly wings, I'm still dreaming of the day I can be a butterfly at a masquerade ball. *sigh*
Can't wait until I can start reading this anthology!

He held her close, running his hands through her strange hair. The birds behind her shoulder dipped down into the waves to feed on the fish. Was that what he was? A predator? More birds dove down, feasting on their morning meal. The water sparkled, and he caught a speckle of white in the distance behind the furiously flapping forms—not quite clouds, but masts. Fishing boats. They broke over the horizon, their flags hauntingly familiar. These were his people. A deep thickness filled his throat so that he couldn’t breathe. They had come for him, and he spied one body after another shoot into the air carried up by mighty wings. Now that the bird men were close to the island, they didn’t fear Storm Brother.

Matiu pushed Areta behind him to shield her from their sight, but it was too late. They were close enough to recognize the coral color of her hair and know what she was. The bird men’s hate was strong and they wouldn’t hesitate to kill her.
