Book Tour: My Sweet Danish Rose by Tina Peterson Scott

Author Bio:

Tina Peterson Scott was born and raised in Mesa, Arizona. Books played an important part in her childhood, and for much of it, she could be found nestled against a branch high in their pecan tree, reading. Her favorites were fantasy, and mystery. It delighted Tina when her mother read to her from Grimm’s Fairy-tales and the stories of Hans Christian Andersen.
Tina and her husband have seven children and a growing number of grandchildren. Other than large family get-togethers involving lots of food and fun, she enjoys writing, watercolor painting, long walks, ice cream, and traveling to Europe—especially to her father’s ancestral home of Denmark.

Book Blurb:

Alone in the world, and counting on love to triumph ...
Berta Erichsen is an energetic fifteen-year-old with a mind of her own. Last seen in Farewell, My Denmark (2013), and with visions of happily ever after, she impulsively stays behind when her family joins the 1863 Mormon pilgrimage to America.
When Berta finds herself homeless and alone in her Mormon faith, three men add to the confusion and danger of her life; the prominent man who deceives and defrauds both her and her family, but is the only one who offers her shelter; the childhood sweetheart who romances but hasn’t proposed; the handsome stableman that stole her Book of Mormon. Berta must uncover their hidden motives and make decisions to save her faith, her heart, and her future.

Chapter 34

I glanced down. A family of adders rested over and around my legs—their venomous tongues licking the air, hissing at my movement.
A scream rose to the tip of my tongue, but before it escaped, a voice whispered over me, “Be calm.” It felt like a warm glass of milk, calming my soul. I offered a prayer of thankfulness. Screaming would have only gotten me bit—and there were plenty of fangs for biting. If I didn’t remain calm, I’d die before the sun went down. Instead, I continued praying for my safety.

My jaw clenched. My eyes squeezed shut. I held still, barely daring to breathe as they started moving across me, probably looking for a nice rock to sun on as they were known to do. I watched them slither over my legs, the hair on my arms and neck prickling as they moved away and into the rushes.

Count Down to Valentine's Day: Book 6: Passport to Happiness by Debbie White

A little romance and a little travel. Could anything be better then that?

Day 6
14 Days of Romance Valentine's Day Book Blitz Event

I've had Author Debbie White here on the blog before, but this is one of my favorites of her books, so I'm happy to have her back!

Author Bio:

Debbie currently resides in beautiful Sonoma County, California, where the jagged Pacific coastline meets the rolling hills cascading with vineyards. She writes romance novellas that feature strong, independent women, who when faced with adversity, or tragedy, fine strength and overcome the perils that stand in their way. She’s an avid supporter of animal rescue, and happily donates a portion of sales from her books to rescue organizations. She has two adult children, and two granddaughters. In her spare time, she loves to garden, travel; enjoy family, and her beloved rescue dogs, Dash and Briar. Her real passion of course is writing, and she uses her 20+ years as a military wife as inspiration for her stories. The Salty Dog is her second endeavor, and takes places in Bodega, a small fishing community she has the pleasure of visiting often. Her current release – Passport to Happiness is about a small town girl who travels to foreign places, another area she has experience.

Blurb:

To escape the often lonely and boring reality of living in a small rural town, Jessica finds comfort in reading about the many places that exist beyond her small corner of the earth.

When she joins the State Department and travels abroad looking for adventure, Jessica gets more than she imagined was ever possible.

Passport to Happiness is a story of strength and determination while exploring new places, but it’s also about finding love and happiness – no matter where you hang your hat.

I walked up the couple of steps with my one bag in my hand, and casually turned to see my friends one last time. I blew them both a kiss, and with a heavy heart, I found my way down the aisle of the bus locating an empty seat.
