 A mother’s secrets threaten a daughter’s future…

Bethany Waterbury left Hollywood and the shadow of
her mother's death to give herself a fresh start. Her
main intention—to connect with the family she’d never
really had the chance to know.

Author Kent Black is enjoying his chart topping
success and living freely wherever his travels take him.
But when he meets the illustrious Bethany Waterbury
his wanderlust subsides and the thought of a steady
future begins to take over.

Kent believes in happily ever after, but the burden of
Bethany’s past might be too much for him to embrace
—unless true love is more powerful than a Hollywood tragedy.

Coffee houses once were a source of inspiration. They had a vibe and a feel to them. Now, Kent thought, they were more like bars.
The same people walked in and out of the door every day. They ordered the same addictive concoction and either carried it out or sat for hours and chatted with others.
He missed the days where he could pull up to a table and no one bothered him for hours. Since he was traveling it was one of his only options. Sure, he could hold up in his hotel room, but that wasn’t very inspirational either.
Even though he’d rather be alone, he needed to surround himself with people for inspiration—he just wished they weren’t so noisy.
The door opened again. It had become habit to look up and study the person. This one had him sitting up, removing his fingers from the keyboard of his laptop, and following her with his eyes.
Long red curls bounced over her shoulders, which were bare in a sundress with yellow flowers. She was lean and toned and absolutely radiant.
She walked to the end of the line and Kent turned in his chair to follow her with his gaze.
Smiling at the boy behind the counter, Kent noted that the young man flushed at her simple gesture. That said something.
She continued on to pay for her drink. He heard the woman ringing up her order offer a pastry to which the redhead waved off with her hand and a laugh. Obviously she’d avoid that, he knew just by looking at her. Her drink was probably low fat blah too.
When she turned the beauty of her hit Kent right in the chest. He’d never seen such a beautiful specimen.

 One of a Number.
Nineteen-year-old, Emery Kidd is one of two historians for her community. As a Chronicler, she is aware of the minute details of a society dramatically changed in the course of the two hundred years since cellular regression began. However, it is only now, after one of her lifetimes has passed, Emery discovers an important fact about her own heritage. She is the daughter of the most famous of regeneratives to have ever lived.
Consequently, Emery is also quietly learning just what it means to be the daughter of a martyred woman. Undoubtedly, she bears a strong resemblance to her mother, but more than auburn hair and expressive facial features, Emery would like to believe she’s inherited the same strength of character as well. And yet, believing and knowing are entirely separate matters.
Since everything changes with time—in varying degrees—and destiny often unfolds a plan unforeseen, Emery may just find the opportunity to test her belief. In fact, the entire human population will come face to face with their true inheritance.
The question is how this legacy will be received. For the future is inevitable, this much is certain. Lest we forget, the mere passage of time does not come with it the entitlement to life. To live and prosper is a path that is earned, but mankind has seemingly forgotten this. Can Emery remind the world that survival requires conscious effort? Will Emery and her friends, Cassidy, a fellow chronicler, Liam, a brilliant engineer, and Aiden, a reserved mediator be enough to save the oblivious many?

And now for the moment you have been waiting for...

THE COVER

 Ready for a Snippet!?!

The warmth of sunlight hovers. Abstractly I look up at the pale blue patches of sky, in between the scattered cottony clouds that have rolled in. As a shiver travels along my arms, I suddenly become aware of the coolness within the borders of the park.
Although my jacket is buttoned all the way to my neck, I pull at the woolen sides and wrap my arms around my waist. My fingers tingle. Looking down at reddened tips of the fleshy side and bluish tinge of my nails on the other, I know my nose and cheeks are bound to be rosy as well. It’s a wonder I didn’t feel the bite until now. A brisk walk will put some distance between me and this place. I’ve shed a fair amount of baggage these past few months, but lately there are new meditations to store in an invisible backpack—a burden I’ve been unknowingly carrying upon my shoulders for years.

Book Tour: Westly by Brian Beus

There is nothing quite as fun as assisting a debut author! Introducing the very talented Bryan Beus!

SYNOPSIS:
This is tale of a caterpillar named Westly who is destined to be a Monarch butterfly and the next king of the butterfly kingdom. But sometimes things don't turn out the way we plan. When Westly emerges from his cocoon he is nothing like he expected. He's a spider! And he must navigate the social hierarchy with butterflies at the top and insects at the bottom and Westly somewhere in-between. Adopted by the "dirt eaters," Westly is determined to make a difference. He is determined to belong, to be loved, and most importantly, to become who he was born to be.

AUTHOR BIO:
Bryan Beus – which rhymes with Zeus – is the winner of the Kirchoff/Wohlberg Award from The New York Society of Illustrators. He works full time as an illustrator for magazines, book covers, film and game conceptual art, and more. When not writing and drawing, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Amanda, mindful meditation, drinking root beer floats, and eating far too many Sour Patch Watermelons. Westly is his debut novel.

My Review:
This is a fantastic story of life gone horribly wrong. I mean seriously. There are certain parts of our life that we expect to have happen. For a caterpillar, they expect to become a butterfly, or at least I'd imagine that they do. I read this story to my 5 year old, and the combination of bugs and fantastic illustrations made it so difficult for him to fall asleep, that eventually we couldn't read it before bed anymore. That's a first for him! I was more than happy to have daytime reading with my little monster, and we fully enjoyed this story. I highly recommend this book, and I'd encourage parents everywhere to read it too their little ones. It's fun, inspiring, creative, and will inspire little ones to look at bugs in a very different light.
