To Dance Once More
book blurb:
Stripped of her future, will she concede or fight?Debutante Lydia Barrington lives a carefree, protected existence on Live Oaks Plantation in Florida. While her sisters happily prepare for their traditional roles as women and talk of courting, Lydia dreams of adventure and independence. She counts the days until she can leave home to explore the world, to dance with cultured gentlemen, to explore politics and art, to leave behind the confining expectations of her family and community—and her God. Even her friendship with handsome Hamilton Scarbrough isn’t enough to hold her back…until they dance, and her heart considers love.
Confused by her heart's betrayal, Lydia struggles to gain her independence. Then she overhears a private conversation about a business deal that has everything to do with her future. Now she’s faced with the biggest decision of her life—to concede or to fight. Either choice will require great sacrifice…and, perhaps, countless rewards. In an attempt to escape her imminent destiny, Lydia scrambles to find a solution—at all costs. Amidst the trials that follow, as Lydia runs out of time, she learns the meaning of sacrifice, forgiveness, hope and faith.
Will she ever experience the freedom she's so longed for, or will her desires change in light of her circumstances? Will she ever be able TO DANCE ONCE MORE?
Romance. Scandal. Desperation. Hope.
I did a little research and found the old cover. I think Sherri made a HUGE upgrade! What do you think? Not that her old cover was bad. It's very elegant. But next to the new one, I don't think there is a contest as to which one is better!

SNIPPET CHAIN!!!
#4 for To Dance Once More
"It's hard to believe you're
sixteen today." Alexa walked beside Lydia on their way to the one room school
house, built on their property for the Barrington children. Dainty yellow
flowers lined the walkway, and white sand peeked through the grass.
"You're not that much older
than me. You're just seventeen yourself." Lydia rolled her eyes. Being the
baby of the family was worse than being last in line for the water pitcher on a
hot summer day. Even Nathan was older by five minutes.
"Almost eighteen," Alexa
corrected.
"Now don't be defensive,
Lydia. Alexa meant no spite." Josie's dark eyes squinted in the morning
sun. "It does seem rather strange that we no longer have little children
in our home."
"We haven't had little
children around here for a long time." Lydia kicked a pebble into the
woods. Now that had been a childish thing to do. If she'd wanted to defend her
maturity, she'd just failed.
"Fine then, I didn't mean to
start a war." Alexa glared at Lydia with coffee-colored eyes.
I asked Author Sherri Wilson Johnson, who she would select to play the lead rolls if her book was taken to the big screen, and this is the reply she sent.
" If these books were made into movies, I'd either pick Rose Leslie
or Molly Quinn (with auburn hair)
to portray Lydia Barrington Scarbrough.
When I began writing To Dance Once More in 1993, Jason Patrick
was my Hamilton Scarbrough.Later, I decided on Ian Somerhalder from The Vampire Diaries. But now, I think I'd pick Henry Cavill from Superman.
"
What do you think of her picks?
Which of her choices would like to see play the lead rolls in these haunting stories?
