She was abandoned by her father at age seven. The child care workers seized her at age fifteen when her mother ran afoul of the law. Her first two foster care placements were terminated after sexual harassment incidents. On a spur-of-the-moment whim, she and her foster care buddy hid in the back of an almost loaded moving van. Six hours later, still fifteen years old, she was a runaway, homeless street person in a city she never even knew the name of. Soup Kitchens and Downtown Missions became her new homes. She used the alias, Mary Smith so the authorities would be less likely to find out her real identity and return her back north where she hailed from. As the weather turned colder, she and her buddy hitchhiked further south. She never knew why but her buddy, her only real friend, then disappeared from her life. She was sixteen and alone. Her life consisted of surviving one day at a time. There was no use even thinking about a future, but then a miracle happened.

Let's look inside the book!

"Dacque quietly checked the back door. The squatter had not bothered to lock it. He gently opened the door and paused, waiting for a reaction. The dormant figure did not move. Dacque turned on the flashlight but pointed it down by his feet. Reaching inside, he grabbed a hold of the well-worn running shoe on the top foot of the stacked pair and jiggled it back and forth. The squatter rolled over on its back but did not open its eyes. By the shape of her figure, Dacque was now certain that it indeed was the teenage girl spoken of in his dream. He shook the other foot this time. The young lady opened her eyes, sat up suddenly and glared at him for a second or two before swiftly turning towards the exit door behind her"

Including each other.

Here is sneak peek into Legacy

Once we’re checked in, I follow Kye to the elevator and down the hall to our room, dragging my suitcase behind me. He opens the door and waves me ahead of him. Dropping my bags on the floor, I stumble to the bed and fall backward onto it to stare at the ceiling. Kye’s face appears above mine. “You okay?”
I nod. “Exhausted. But I’ll live.”
His smile eases some of the tension between us. “I hope so. If you didn’t, I couldn’t.” He sits next to me and runs his fingers down my jaw, across my cheek. “I thought it would be good to have some time alone. We should talk before we get to Kiersten’s.”
We’ve been alone since we left. My stomach twists with anxiety, and I can’t prevent the catch in my voice. “More confessions?”
His fingers keep moving, tracing my collar bone and shoulder. “No. But I think we need to at least try to make a plan, figure out where we’re going—what comes next. Sleeping arrangements.” He glances meaningfully at the pillows. “Didn’t occur to me until now that maybe I should ask for a double. We’ve been sharing for long enough that I just assumed.”
I close my eyes, too exhausted, too confused to seriously think about anything right now. And the truth is that more than anything else, I need to be held. Our lives have been turned upside down and inside out. We’ve left behind everything and everyone we’ve ever loved except each other—and we have no idea when we’ll see any of them again—if ever. He’s all I have, and I’m all he has. Regardless of past hurts and mistakes and issues, we’re going to have to learn how to let go and depend on each other, regardless of whether we want to be together the way I once thought we would.
We’re going to have to figure out how to trust each other again.
My lack of response has him sighing as he stands. “I’m going to take a shower. Do you need to get in the bathroom first?”
“No, go ahead.” I don’t move except to turn my head and watch him go. Everything about him screams misery—frustration. I know the cure for his frustration could probably come from me. But I don’t know how to give it to him. Not in my current state of mind.
When he comes out twenty minutes later with wet hair, wearing his flannel pajama bottoms and a T-shirt, I’m still lying in the same spot. He pauses next to me, a bemused expression lighting his eyes. “It’s all yours. If you want it.”
Sighing wearily, I stand, expecting him to move, but he doesn’t, and his position leaves us close. “Abby,” he murmurs. “Talk to me. Tell me what you’re thinking. Please.”
I shake my head, not because I don’t want to talk to him—I know, know, I need to. But I’m exhausted, and overwhelmed, and my brain is so full, I don’t even know where to start. His palm cups my cheek, and I lean into it, eyes closed. His relief is nearly palpable as we stand there, close enough to touch, and yet miles apart, because the contact of his skin on mine—even palm to cheek—still makes me quiver, heats my blood. And Kye feels it.
Eventually, I cover his hand with mine and hold onto it as I step around him, keeping our fingers connected until I step into the already steamy bathroom and close the door.

Blog tour: Taming the Whirlwind by L M Heidle

Liz is slowly accomplishing her goals:

1.      Get out of her small town- CHECK
2.      Graduate College- CHECK
3.      Move to New York- CHECK
4.      Get a job- working on it
5.      Find drama- WAIT! NO!

Finding drama was NOT on her to-do list, but apparently life didn’t get the memo, because it threw her one heck of a curveball. What curveball you ask? It’s not a what, but a who and that who would be Mr. Kade Ian Parker. The tattooed, short-tempered, sexier than should be allowed businessman, has turned her world more than upside down. He obliterated it. Her life has turned into something that even a soap opera writer couldn’t come up with.
Kade never wanted to find love. He saw how his family crumbled after his mom left; there was no way he was going to be crushed by another woman. No one had come close to making him want more, until her. No matter how hard he fought his attraction and oh did he try. Hell, he basically pushed her into another man’s arms, nothing changed.  He. Still. Wanted. Her.

About me? Hmm . . . I hate this part. It kind of makes me feel like I’m answering questions for a dating service, but here you go. . .
I’ve spent most of my life in one part or another of Missouri. The last four years, through my husband’s career, I’ve gotten to live in Texas and Georgia.
My husband and I have been married for ten years. We have two beautiful boys, who will most likely drive me to insanity before they’re ten. We have three disgusting snakes (Can you tell it wasn’t my idea?). Now we’ve added a Rat terrier puppy to the crazy mix, who is beyond spoiled, but at least I get to dress someone in pink.
I’d never planned on being a writer, never even crossed my mind. It started as a way to escape during a difficult time in my life and then I realized how much I loved it. I’d finished my first book and couldn’t wait to start the next one. Now I’m on book four and already have ideas for number five running through my head.
I never thought writing would be more than a hobby, but when I was given the opportunity to publish, I decided to take it. Who knows where the future will lead, maybe I’ll sell one book or a thousand, but at least I fought my fear of the unknown and tried.
I have a ton of people to thank. My husband and children for putting up with me. My sister for giving me the idea by getting me addicted to my Kindle. If there was a Kindle’s Anonymous, I’d probably need to be a member. My parents for always believing in anything I do. Julie of Amazing Things Press for giving me a shot. Last, but definitely not least my fans (when I get some) for taking a chance on an unknown writer.

With Love,

Lindsey

Kade, you thought I was irrational before? Then you’re going to love this. You can take your roses and shove them. Here’s the jewelry and shoes back, I would hate for you to waste a dime on someone who doesn’t respect you!! As for the dress I’m keeping it for having to put up with your arrogant, self-centered, and downright obnoxious personality. If you don’t like it, get the hell over it because I could care less.

Ms. Day

Main Character Casting:

-->
Kade Ian Parker:

You’d never know a tatted, chiseled to perfection body lay beneath those expensive suits, but there’s a lot you don’t know about Mr. Parker. Most people only see the tall, demanding man with killer looks, but there’s more to him than blonde hair, glacial blue eyes, and melt worthy dimples. If you can see past the intimidating personality and mouth watering good looks, you’ll get to see just how deep he really is, and that’s where the true attraction lies.
* If I had to pick an actor it would probably be rougher version of Chris Hemsworth

Elizabeth Anne Day:

Kade knows Liz is from a small town, he knows everything about her, even before he really knows her. Most people only see a fair skinned woman with brown hair and green eyes. When Kade looks at her he sees captivating green eyes, that see so deep inside it scares the hell out of him. Add that on top of her rocking body with a hidden rose tattoo and no matter what he does, he knows he’s screwed.
*If I had to pick an actress it would probably be Emma Stone.

Count Down to Christmas Blitz: All is Merri and Bright by Tifani Clark

Merri Wilcox has finally achieved her greatest dream and opened her own hair salon. Life is bliss until Brighton Stansbury walks through her door. Growing up, Brighton was behind every bad thing that happened to Merri. She hasn't seen him since high school graduation and could have happily continued like that forever.

When a winter storm traps Merri and Brighton together, will the pair finally learn to get along, or will the Christmas holiday become their new war zone?

Tifani Clark grew up on a potato farm in southeastern Idaho with two brothers and two sisters. Because of her location, she had a lot of space to imagine and daydream and often pretended to be characters in books--like Scarlett O'Hara. She is married to the love of her life and is the mother of four fabulous children. When not writing, she enjoys playing the violin and piano and traveling to new places.

Q and A with the Author:
1.       Did you learn anything from writing your book and what was it?
        a.   All is Merri and Bright is the first ‘cozy romance’ I wrote. Up to this point, all my stories    have been geared toward the YA crowd. I learned that it’s a fun genre and I can explore     other options.
2.       What is the thing you struggle with the most while writing? And how do you defeat it?

        a.    Sometimes when writing my characters get stuck in situations that I don’t know how to                get them out of. I know the story starts at Point A, and I know it ends at Point B, but              sometimes getting them through the in-between stuff can be tricky.  Some of my best thinking comes during the early morning hours. I’m a morning person and usually wake up long before my alarm goes off. I use that time to lie in bed and think through my stories. Answers to plot questions usually find their way out.

Snippet
1Lost in her thoughts, Merri didn’t notice that Brighton had stopped working next to her—until a snowball hit her in the back of the head.
Shocked, she whipped around to glare at Brighton who already had another snowball formed and aimed at her. “You did not just do that.”
“I did. And I don’t regret it.” He grinned. “Although, admittedly, I was aiming for your back, not your head.”
“So not only can you not drive straight, but you can’t throw straight either,” Merri said.
Without any further warning, Brighton pulled his arm back and unleashed the second snowball. It connected with her face, splattering across her cheeks and dripping down into her coat.  “Hey, look at that. My aim’s not so bad after all,” he said.
“You’re going to regret doing that.” Still gasping from the cold shock, Merri grabbed a handful of snow and hurled it at Brighton. He easily ducked and the poorly formed ball sailed over his head.
“Is that the best you’ve got?”
“You are so frustrating!” Merri yelled.
“No I’m not. You just think I am because you’re frustrated with yourself.”
Merri grabbed another handful of snow, taking her time as she formed it into a perfectly packed ball. She raised her arm and thrust it forward, faking a throw. Brighton dodged the empty pass, just as she knew he would. While he struggled to regain his balance, she unleashed the snowball for real, hitting him square in the chest.

And Some Author Q&A's

What do you do in your spare time when you’re not writing?
I teach English to adults in Spain, full time. I enjoy working out at the gym, going for long walks, reading, travelling, and chatting to my physical and virtual friends.
How many books do you have out, and do you have a favorite?
Twelfth Night at Eyre Hall is my second book. The first is All Hallows at Eyre Hall. Book 3, Midsummer at Eyre Hall is also under way. I love both of my published books. Book one will always be special, but I like the way book two moved the story forward building a more exciting story.

When did you start writing, and was there a specific event or person who influenced you to become an author?
I’ve always been an avid reader, and I’ve wanted to write and publish novels as far back as I can remember. My first book is dedicated to Sister Catherine. She used to read aloud to us during the last hour of class, and always on Friday afternoons. I was twelve at the time. I remember her reading The Moonstone, Oliver Twist, and Vanity Fair, among others. She transmitted her love for literature and especially the Victorians.
