About the Author:
I am an Irish-Canadian Young Adult author who was born in Winnipeg, Canada (yes, it really does exist). I love my city and love even more that it's become Hollywood's running joke (Don't believe me? Just check out Youtube).

I have always been a writer, from poems in my Grade 6 diary (Ode to Hobbits), to short stories in the back of my math's book. I have always loved to create stories and find myself constantly creating new characters.

I am a dedicated Fangirl of many proportions and I have a knack for getting expressions all wrong and saying incredibly stupid, but often hilarious things (My graduation gift from my friends was a book of my own quotes).

I am a proud alumna of St. Mary’s Academy, an all-girls Catholic prep school and I studied Theatre and Film at the University of Winnipeg. Currently, I am still hanging out in Winnipeg.

GIVEAWAY:

Excerpt:

I look at the guy leaning against the vehicle. He’s wearing flip flops. His tanned complexion gleams against the warm sun’s rays. He’s wearing light, blue washed shorts with fashionable rips.
His jaws are clenched, his body hard. He’s shirtless…very shirtless. Air trickles out of my mouth as I exhale in awe. My heart beat slows down and the light, warm wind moves the tiny hairs on my skin.
The gravel beneath him crunches and rumbles as he slowly walks toward me. He smirks at me. His chocolate eyes are mouthwatering.
I feel a presence around us as the air between our bodies stiffened. Hollister cologne slithers up into my nostrils. My nose flares as he touches me underneath my chin with the tip of his thumb. He leans over me and whispers into my ear.
“You’re staring again, Miss Swift,” he says, his voice rough and raspy. I shudder. Goose bumps pop on my skin, traveling down from my ear onto my lower back.
He must be rich if he has both a motorcycle and a car. I can’t believe Eric is in front of me and not Dawn. How does he even know where I live?
My lips part slowly. I say, “I—I’m sorry.”
He slides his hand down my arm. I grip the strap of my beach bag because I’m nervous. He eventually finds my fingers and gently loosens the grip. While he continues to stare into my eyes, I see their light green reflection through his.
“I didn’t say I didn’t like it,” he replies. He grabs my beach bag and interrupts my daze. My eyes flutter up to his face. He was so close to me...The nerves in my body tickle against my skin.
His muscular chest rises as he breathes, and the veins along his slim arms are visible. I glance down at my beach bag.
“Where’s, uh, Dawn?” I manage to say, looking around. I purse my lips and pull out my cellphone to shoot her a text, but he grabs my phone and places it in his pocket.
“Don’t worry about it,” he says under his breath, grinning.

With a buyer willing to pay top dollar for the land, Mark has the fate of the trees in his hand. Will he be able to see what and who is most important? And will Angela give the miracle of love a chance?

Tamara Passey, author of the The Christmas Tree Keeper: A Novel, was born and raised in Massachusetts around a large family, one that has served as inspiration for most of her writing. She was named Arizona Young Mother of the Year in 2013 and contributes marriage and family articles to FamilyShare.com. Mothering through the Whirlwind is her fist work of non-fiction. She loves most creative endeavors and when she isn't writing or re-writing, you can find her baking or cross-stitching or walking--though not all at the same time. She lives with her husband and three children in Arizona.

Q and A with the Author:

1.      Did you learn anything from writing your book and what was it?

I learned so much from writing this book that could I could fill another book, but that just might be because I had a lot to learn. What stands out are these: 1. The words won't write themselves, I need to show up at the page. 2. Writing a book is like entering an agreement with the reader. That is agreement is set up within the first five pages (or less) and as the author, I need to deliver on the promise of the premise or risk not living up to my part of the agreement. 3. Writing is harder than I want it to be, but also more rewarding than I dreamed it could be.

2.   What is the thing you struggle with the most while writing? And how do you defeat it?

Besides finding time to write, self-doubt would top the list of what I struggled with most. How did I defeat it? I'm not sure I did, but I did learn to set it aside long enough to finish the book and then long enough to share the book with readers. If I allow my self-doubt too much "air time" it can shut down the entire creative process. I'll only entertain so much, then I get back to the page.

“Can we bring something for Christmas?”

“Like what?”

“Can I bring your nativity set?” she asked as she looked at it longingly.

Angela set the grocery bags down in front of the door. She picked up the case and began putting the pieces into their corresponding velvet compartments. Caroline helped. The place for the lamb remained empty.

“I’m sorry I lost the lamb,” Caroline said.

“It’s okay,” Angela insisted. “Don’t worry about it.”

“Will we ever find it?”

“Maybe,” she said. Probably not.

“What did Florinda tell you about the wise men?” Caroline asked.

Angela sighed. Her daughter’s energy seemed to increase as Angela’s waned.

“The wise men? ‘Don’t give up your search for Jesus,’ I think she said.”

“What does that mean?”

“The wise men travelled a great distance. It must have been a long journey, but they didn’t stop until they found Jesus as a child.” Angela almost closed the case, but Caroline reached for another piece.

“What about him? What did she say about Joseph?”

Too worn out to resist her daughter’s earnest inquiry, Angela explained, “Florinda said, ‘when you find someone as loving and as loyal as Joseph, keep him close to your heart.’”

Caroline reached for the figure and tilted her head. “You haven’t found someone like that yet, have you?” she asked.

Angela took the figure back, put it in the case and closed it. She spoke the obvious answer hanging in the air.

“No. I haven’t.”
